Directing & Producing — Your Site Title

For the past 15 years I’ve gotten to have a front row seat to directors: how they work, how they guide and how they direct the actors and the crew. During my training the focus was text, text and text: through character development and ensemble building exercises. My course work in my acting and directing programs at Santa Barbara City College and Binghamton University, were focused in Meisner improvisation, Scene Study, Molière, Shakespeare and heightened text work, Voice studies (Linklater technique) and Movement. As a director and producer, my background in acting has been very influential as it’s allowed a specific insight into the actor’s work and that creative process. But it’s also been heavily influential that I have been able to work with and learn from directors in theatre, musicals, opera, film and TV on over 50 projects. On top of directing I’ve produced 3 plays in New York, created and produced 1 theatre festival, 1 music video, and 3 shortfilms. I’ve been assisting directors and producers on independent films plus theatre, dance and circus shows in the US and in Sweden. I’ve also have gotten to work in the costume, hair, and make-up department, ran lights, assisted stage managed, stage managed; administrated projects and been a location scout, assisted in casting (for film). And have gotten to do a lot of textual work: I’ve have translated multiple pieces (Swe/Eng/Fr/It) such as the theatrical adaptation of Life is Beautiful (Benigni, Cerami) that we translated and adapted, that I then directed at the international theatre festival that I also produced in Santa Barbara, alongside producing 4 other pieces such as Miss Julie (Strindberg). I’ve also worked in devising, assisted in the script development through workshop and pre-production processes, and have gotten to do more writing work in the past few years. In the summer of 2021 I stage-managed, site managed, choreographed and assisted the director and producer in an outdoor arena theatre-circus show, and produced and directed a pilot of a feature as well as a short film. Even though I have a wide experience within theatre, dance, music and film my main experience lies in acting, directing and producing. My focus during pre-production, workshops, rehearsals and production isn’t simply on developing something great and moving (of course there’s that too) but also in creating an atmosphere that’s filled with acceptance, safety and creativity. I’m an energetic, curious and open person and I can’t wait to see what more experiences I can develop and learn from.
